The Cathedral Choir of Children and Youth (CCCY) is a city-wide choir program that fosters a lifelong enjoyment and appreciation of music through the singing of sacred choral compositions. The program, which is based on the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM) Voice for Life curriculum, is open to children as young as those in grade two. No prior music experience is required. Choristers have the opportunity to develop musical confidence, make new friends and experience music education and faith formation. Directed by Christoper Wheeler, the choir performs once a month at Christ Church Cathedral and other churches and venues throughout Greater Cincinnati. Older choristers have the opportunity to audition for placement in the advanced “CCCY Singers” in addition to their choir participation.
6:30 to 8:00 p.m.: CCCY rehearsal
8:00 to 8:30 p.m.: CCCY Singers rehearsal (audition required for this chamber ensemble)
While choristers are encouraged to join the choir at the beginning of the season (enrollment form), interested young people may be accepted at other times during the year. The CCCY season runs September through May. Contact Christopher Wheeler for full details.
