About C. B. Fisk Opus 148
In August of 2014, thanks to a generous anonymous donation, Christ Church Cathedral commissioned C. B. Fisk, Inc., to design, build, and install a new organ for Centennial Chapel as part of the chapel renovation project. The 2-manual, 22-stop mechanical-action instrument, installed and voiced during the 2017-18 season, complements the chapel’s intimate neo-Gothic style with warm, gentle voicing. Tonal models for the instrument include the organs of the 16th-century Antegnati family of Italian builders and the organs of the 18th and 19th-century Serassi family. Opus 148 adds immeasurably to the cathedral’s worship and concert life and serves as a resource to students and performers throughout the region.
