A Trip to Tikkun Farm
May 18 @ 9:30 am - 1:30 pm
Tour the 3.5-acre Tikkun Farm in Mt. Healthy and discover how healing, restoration and repair can be cultivated through meaningful work and spiritual practices.
The Hebrew phrase tikkun olam captures the collective life purpose of the Jewish people to “repair the world.” This phrase has many layers of meaning from personal healing to global reconciliation, but at its core it means to join with God in repairing what has been broken: lives, relationships, buildings, villages, nations, the land. The work is rooted in scripture, as Isaiah 61:4 calls on those who have been healed to now become healers: “(building) up the ancient ruins” and “(raising) up the former devastations.”
Tikkun Farm is located at 7945 Elizabeth Street in Mt. Healthy (45231). Transportation is on your own. Car-pooling is recommended. Sign up at the cathedral reception desk if you plan to go. Lunch provided.
