Community Issues Forum Noon
November 8 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
The Good Food For All Project
At this Community Issues Forum, Brennan Grayson, executive director of the Cincinnati Interfaith Workers Center, reviews the goals and development of the the Greater Cincinnati Good Food Coalition and provide an up-to-date progress report on its collaboration with Cincinnati Public Schools.
The Greater Cincinnati Good Food Coalition is a diverse alliance of organizations dedicated to reshaping local food institutions into a system that is healthier for people and the environment. It currently works with the Cincinnati Public Schools to leverage the district’s purchasing power in order to bring best food practices to its many campuses.
CPS serves more meals than all our local restaurants combined. With public dollars paying for this huge food budget, CPS offers a great opportunity to leverage this budget to bring about a system that provides healthy food, protects the environment, and is fair to its workers.
Community Issues Forum are held September through May, generally on a bi-weekly basis. They are free and open to all. You may bring their own lunches or buy one at the cathedral for $6.50. Learn more.
