Men’s 2019 Retreat

September 20 @ 5:00 pm - September 22 @ 1:00 pm

The Wisdom of Jesus:
Guidance for Men’s Spiritual Journeys

This retreat is offering men a chance to pause and reflect about what’s most important in life. Life’s challenges will be explored by looking at the major themes of Jesus’ life and reflecting on how his wisdom can guide the lives of men. The format is to include teaching and conversation about the spiritual journey, provide opportunity for prayer and worship, and offer time to relax and reflect. The retreat is also introducing several spiritual practices that can assist men in their faith walk.

The retreat is being held at The Community of the Transfiguration, a lovely and peaceful retreat center located at 495 Albion Avenue in Glendale, Ohio (45246). Retreatants will have their own private rooms and baths.

Commuters are welcome but because the sessions of this retreat are designed to build one upon the other, all who want to commute are asked to plan to attend all sessions. This will allow for a more enriching experience for all.

(Note: Those who may have regular responsibilities at the cathedral’s Sunday worship services are encouraged to secure substitutes so they will not miss the closing session and are able to remain fully engaged until the end of the retreat.)

RETREAT LEADER
The Rev. Karl Ruttan, Ph.D., is a retired Episcopal priest who has served parishes in Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, as well as Central Africa. Formerly he served as Canon for Life Formation for the Diocese of Southern Ohio. He received his doctorate in spiritual formation at Duquesne University. As a spiritual director, teacher, and retreat leader, he is particularly interested in the male spiritual journey. He lives with his wife, Mary, in Louisville, Kentucky, where he assists in his local parish and continues a practice of spiritual direction.
