“This cross stands on the altar in the prayer corner leading to the columbarium of Christ Church Cathedral. The reflection in the cross of the stained glass window across from the altar caught my attention. I isolated the cross in the original image onto a black background to make the colors stand out.”
About the Artist
Constance Sanders is a Greater Cincinnati area photographer who specializes in portraiture, pet photography, fine art, and real estate photography. Her studio is located in Bellevue, Kentucky. She began serious photography work with her first manual single lens reflex film camera during her college years. She now works primarily in digital media.
She has shown her fine art photography at various venues in the Cincinnati area, including several exhibits at Christ Church Cathedral. Her images appear in two Capture Cincinnati books and in the World Choir Games commemorative book. Several of her images have won awards, including five that have merited in the International Photographic Competition [IPC] in 2015 and 2016. Three of these were selected to be printed in the prestigious IPC Loan Collection book, and one received the regional Kodak Gallery Award.
A retired public school music teacher, Connie is a classically trained musician who sings in the Christ Church Cathedral Choir. She also plays French horn in several local community ensembles.
In addition to singing in the choir at the cathedral, Connie is a lay reader, a member of the Hospitality Guild, and a member of the Hearts and Hands prayer shawl ministry. She also cooks for Music Live@Lunch.
She lives with five rescued Pomeranians. She has been a parishioner of Christ Church since 1981.
