Everyone is welcome at Christ Church Cathedral. We believe God loves all people – no exceptions! Whether you are looking for a church community, visiting from out of town, or just curious about what the Cathedral offers, know that you are always welcome here.
Sundays, we gather to break bread, hear Scripture, and be equipped as followers of Jesus. Each service at Christ Church Cathedral reflects the diversity of our multi-generational community through music and worship.
THE CENTENNIAL CHAPEL
Quiet & sacred, the 8am traditional Episcopal service includes traditional language, and a shorter service is provided with Holy Communion. Participants enjoy beautiful music played on the new organ. Join our faithful 8am attendees after service for fellowship, coffee, and donuts during Community Coffee Hour.
The Cathedral Nave
Experience our congregational choir and musical instruments give voice to emotions ranging from exuberant praise to deep lament. With a full liturgy from the Anglican cathedral tradition, Dean Owen Thompson preaches and leads the liturgy. After, enjoy fellowship, coffee, and donuts during Community Coffee Hour.
THE CENTENNIAL CHAPEL
At Noon Service, participate in worship expressed through the arts, acoustic folk-style music, call and response liturgy, and facilitated questions and discussion. Experience a sense of intimacy and a community desiring to explore and embody deeper things of God. Afterward, all are welcome to join for Community Lunch.
Peaceable Kingdom is our Sunday morning children’s formation from birth through age 10. This is a Waldorf style, mixed age classroom where the formation is centered in experiential and creative work, movement, and song. During Peaceable Kingdom, we make bread, play, gather for a Bible story from the lectionary reading (seasonally and age appropriate), sing songs with Mr. Jason, have tea, and reflect on the Bible story. Children are welcome to attend at 10am and stay until 12pm, leaving space for parents to attend coffee hour or brunch before the 12pm service.
When we worship, we gather with community to thank, praise, and dwell with God. We hear the Good News of Jesus Christ, give thanks, confess, and offer the brokenness of the world to God. As we break bread, our eyes are opened to the presence of Christ. By the power of the Holy Spirit, we are made one body, the body of Christ sent forth to live the Way of Love.
Just as God wants to enter into our lives and meet us where we are, so God desires for us to enter into God’s space, together, and be present there.
Discover the beauty and simplicity of the Episcopal tradition at this hour-long worship gathering that combines prayer, silence, music, scripture, and discussion. People who attend Noon Service comment on the welcome, the sense of intimacy and community, the richness of conversation, and the sense of reverence and playfulness.
Music is an integral part of who we are at Christ Church Cathedral. When we gather for worship, we sing together exuberantly as a congregation. Our multiple choirs and musical instruments bring a variety of superb literature from the Anglican cathedral tradition and give voice to a range of powerful emotions.
