Christ Church Cathedral offers an exciting array of ministry opportunities designed to nurture community, spiritual growth, and social engagement.

THE 5000 CLUB
Each Tuesday, the 5000 Club feeds approximately 175 people in our city. The need continues to grow, and we are looking for new volunteers to join the team and help with the following: order food; pick-up/deliver food/supplies; set up tables & serving line; sign-in table; clean up; dishwashing.
Training can occur on any Tuesday.

BLESSING BAGS
Each Saturday morning, a group of volunteers gathers at the Cathedral to pack sandwiches and snacks in “Blessing Bags.” 25 bags are delivered to the Church of the Advent, and about 100 bags are picked up by individuals on Saturday morning or taken out to the street by volunteers.
Blessing Bag distribution is from 10 – 11 am every Saturday. Volunteers will need to arrive no later than 9:00 am.

COMMUNITY GRANTS PROGRAM
The Cathedral supports organizations that help those who cannot help themselves and organizations that walk with Christ Church Cathedral in promoting reconciliation, social justice, and advocacy. Grant dollars are awarded to organizations that house, feed, and clothe the poor.
However, the cathedral also believes in addressing the causes of poverty and routinely awards grant funds to groups that foster mentoring and educational programs to break the cycle of poverty.
Application Deadline: October 16, 2026
Grant Notifications After: November 17, 2026

HEARTS AND HANDS PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY
Our Hearts and Hands Prayer Shawl Ministry is a collective of individuals who regularly meet on the 3rd Saturday of the month at 9:30 am, except for April and December, when we meet on the 2nd Saturday, to knit and crochet in fellowship for 2.5 hours in the library. All are welcome, and no prior experience is necessary!
They create prayer shawls, scarves, hats, small toys, and other special gifts for members and friends of our community in need.

JUBILEE DEBT FORGIVENESS PROGRAM
The Jubilee program partners with local agencies that serve families at risk or experiencing homelessness.
It removes barriers to regaining housing stability by paying old utility, housing, or medical bills. The agencies apply to the program on behalf of the families.

LGBTQ+ ALLIANCE
We affirm and celebrate LGBTQ+ individuals as beloved children of God. We recognize the pervasive social isolation, particularly felt by LGBTQ+ individuals facing exclusion from their families and faith communities. This ministry initiative offers spaces of inclusion, belonging, and hope.
The DSO LGBTQ+ Alliance is a network of LGBTQ+ individuals and allies who are Christians or curious about their faith. We aim to build community, affirm and celebrate our unique gifts, and share the Good News of Christ's love within the Episcopal Church.

NATIVE AMERICAN MINISTRY COUNCIL
In 1984, Nina F. Lansley bequeathed funds to the Episcopal Society of Christ Church Cathedral to:
- Provide hands-on outreach by witnessing for and building awareness of the contemporary needs, values, and traditions of Native American cultures in the U.S. and Canada.
- Contribute to the education and to the theological development of leadership within Native American communities.
- Support initiatives to empower Native American societies and ministries related to life needs, cultural sustainability, and spiritual growth within Native American values.

PLUMBLINE MINISTRY
PlumbLine strives to help the people of Cincinnati by preventing evictions from their homes on a one-time emergency basis through collaboration with St. Vincent de Paul.
Each year, we serve over 250 people and commit more than $150,000 annually to these efforts.
Plum Line is staffed by volunteers who work approximately 4 hours a month, meeting with clients in person at the church. Training with an experienced volunteer is provided.
